(My Real SEO Journey with Google Search Console, Google Analytics & Breadcrumbs)

Introduction – My Real Story (No Theory, Only Truth)

When I made my first WordPress website, I was very excited.
I wrote content.
I designed the homepage.
I clicked Publish.

Then I waited.

1 day…
5 days…
10 days…

No traffic
No visitors
No Google ranking

I felt confused and demotivated.

I asked myself:

“My website is online.
Then why Google is not showing it?”

That day I understood a very big SEO truth:

Website online ≠ Website live on Google

This is where my real SEO journey started.

1️⃣ What Does “Live on Google” Really Mean?

A website is live on Google when:

  • Google knows your website exists
  • Google has visited your pages
  • Google has stored your pages in its database
  • Your pages appear in search results

How I Checked My Website

I searched this on Google:

site:mywebsite.com

Result?

No results found

That moment I realized:

Google doesn’t know my website.

2️⃣ My First Big SEO Mistake (Very Common Mistake)

I thought:

  • Hosting is active = Google will find it
  • Content is published = Google will rank it

Both were wrong

Google will NOT automatically understand your website.

You must tell Google clearly.

That’s when I discovered Google Search Console.

3️⃣ What is Google Search Console? (Beginner Explanation)

Google Search Console is a free Google tool that shows:

  • How Google sees your website
  • Which pages are indexed
  • Which pages have errors
  • Which keywords bring traffic

👉 In simple words:

Google Search Console is your direct connection with Google.

4️⃣ How Google Search Console Changed Everything for Me

After setting it up, I saw many shocking things:

  • Some pages were not indexed
  • Some URLs had errors
  • My sitemap was missing
  • Mobile issues were present

Before GSC:
❌ I was blind

After GSC:
✅ I could see everything clearly

5️⃣ Google Search Console Dashboard (Explained Like a Beginner)

🔹 Performance Report

This shows:

  • Clicks
  • Impressions
  • CTR
  • Average position

My Real Use:

I found keywords with:

  • High impressions
  • Very low clicks

Then I:

  • Improved title
  • Improved description

Result:
📈 Clicks increased

🔹 URL Inspection Tool

This tool answers one question:

“Does Google know this page?”

I use it when:

  • I publish a new post
  • I update old content

Then I click Request Indexing.

This alone improved my indexing speed.

🔹 Coverage Report

This section scared me initially 😅

It showed:

  • 404 errors
  • Excluded pages
  • Redirect issues

But it also helped me:

  • Fix broken links
  • Clean my site structure

🔹 Sitemaps

I submitted:

sitemap_index.xml

Before sitemap:
❌ Slow indexing

After sitemap:
✅ Faster crawling

🔹 Mobile Usability

It showed:

  • Text too small
  • Buttons too close

I fixed:

  • Font size
  • Theme layout

Mobile SEO improved a lot.

6️⃣ How I Personally Audit My Website Using GSC

My weekly SEO routine:

  1. Check Coverage errors
  2. Inspect important URLs
  3. Analyze Performance report
  4. Fix mobile issues
  5. Monitor Core Web Vitals
  6. Update sitemap

This habit alone improved my SEO consistency.

7️⃣ Why Google Search Console is Important (From My Experience)

FeatureReal Benefit
PerformanceReal keywords, not guesses
IndexingFaster visibility
ErrorsClean SEO base
MobileBetter rankings
LinksStrong internal structure

8️⃣ What is Breadcrumb Navigation? (Simple Words)

Breadcrumbs show page location.

Example:

Home > Blog > SEO > On-Page SEO

They help:

  • Users
  • Google
  • Site structure

9️⃣ How Breadcrumbs Helped My Website (Real Result)

Before breadcrumbs:

  • Users left early
  • Navigation was confusing

After breadcrumbs:

  • Bounce rate reduced
  • Pages per session increased
  • Google understood structure better

I added breadcrumbs using Rank Math / Yoast.

🔟 What is Google Analytics?

Google Analytics tells:

  • Who visits your site
  • Where they come from
  • What they do on your site

Search Console = Google side
Analytics = User side

11️⃣ How Google Analytics Changed My SEO Thinking

Before GA:
❌ I wrote content blindly

After GA:
✅ I improved pages with high bounce rate
✅ I focused on organic traffic
✅ I optimized mobile users
✅ I tracked conversions

GA taught me:

SEO is not only ranking.
SEO is user behavior.

12️⃣ Crawling, Indexing & Ranking (Real-Life Example)

Think of Google as a library.

  • Crawling = Google reads your book
  • Indexing = Google stores your book
  • Ranking = Google recommends your book

No crawling → No indexing
No indexing → No ranking

13️⃣ Google Sandbox – My Patience Test

My site didn’t rank for months.

I felt:

  • Frustrated
  • Doubtful
  • Demotivated

Later I learned about Sandbox phase.

Google was testing my site.

I kept:

  • Publishing content
  • Improving quality
  • Building trust

Slowly, rankings came.

14️⃣ SEO Chrome Extensions I Use Daily

  • SEO Meta 1 Click – Quick checks
  • SEOQuake – SERP data
  • On-Page SEO tools – Optimization score

They save time and effort.

❓ FAQs (Based on Real Beginner Doubts)

Q1. Why my site is indexed but not ranking?

Because ranking needs trust + time.

Q2. How long sandbox lasts?

Usually 1–6 months.

Q3. Is Google Analytics compulsory?

Not compulsory, but very powerful.

Q4. Are breadcrumbs necessary?

Not compulsory, but highly recommended.

Q5. Can SEO work without Search Console?

Yes, but blindly.

✅ Final Conclusion – What I Wish Someone Told Me Earlier

If you are starting SEO today, remember this:

Google does not hate new websites.
Google tests them.

Use:

  • Google Search Console
  • Google Analytics
  • Clean structure
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Patience

SEO is not fast.
SEO is not magic.

SEO is data + consistency + trust.

If I can do it, you can too.
