दोस्तों शायद ही कोई ऐसा इंसान भारत मे रहता हो जो पृथ्वीराज चौहान जोकि राजपुत शासक थे उनके बारे मे नहीं जनता हो।  पृथ्वीराज चौहान एक बहुत ही महान राजा थे ऐसा कहा जाता है की मोहम्मद गौरी से युद्ध मे पृथ्वीराज चौहानके चचेरे भाई जयचंद ने उनसे गद्दारी की और पृथ्वीराज की हार का कारण बने। 

अपनी इस हार से पहले पृथ्वीराज चौहान मोहम्मद गोरी को कई बार युद्ध मे हरा चुके थे और हर बार हराकर छोड़ देते थे। लेकिन मोहम्मद गोरी ने ऐसा नहीं किया वो पृथ्वीराज चौहान से पहली बार जीता और पृथ्वीराज चौहान को बंद्दी बना लिया।  

पृथ्वीराज चौहान की हार मे जयचंद का बड़ा हाथ था। 

अब सवाल ये उठता है की पृथ्वीराज चौहान के बंदी बनाए जाने के बाद उनकी रानी संयोगिता का क्या हुआ ।  

बहुत से लेखकों ने इसे अलग अलग तरह से इसे दर्शाया है , कुछ विदेशी देशो को website ने यहाँ तक कहा की युद्ध मे पृथ्वीराज चौहान के private part को काट दिया गया और उनकी आँखों के सामने रानी संयोगिता का rape किया गया , जोकि सच नहीं है। 

कुछ दूसरी वेबसाइट का कहना है की मोहम्मद गौरी के कमांडर कुतुबुद्दीन ने रानी को और बहुत सी हिन्दू औरतो को किले से बहार निकाला और वही तम्बू मे उन्हें रखा वह उनके साथ दुर्व्यवहार करना चाहता था ।  लेकिन वह इसमें सफल नहीं हो पाया और उसने सभी को मार दिया 

लेकिन सच बात यह है की जैसे ही पृथ्वीराज चौहान की युद्ध मे हार हुयी और उनके कुछ मंत्रियो ने ये बात महल मे आकर रानी को बताई तो रानी ने आने वाले खतरे को भापकर अपनी इज़्ज़त बचाने के लिए जोहर को अपनाया।  जोहर कुंड आज भी राजस्थान के अजमेर के किले मे मौजूद है। 

भारत मे ऐसी बहुत से महान रानी हुयी है जिन्होंने अपनी जान से ज्यादा अपनी इज़्ज़त और शौर्य को बनाए रखने के लिए जोहर को अपनाया।

But the truth is that as soon as Prithviraj Chauhan was defeated in the war and some of his ministers came to the palace and told this to the queen, then the queen adopted Johar to save her honor by steaming up the danger. Johar Kund is still present in the fort of Ajmer in Rajasthan.
